![]() ![]() Have you been able to control Youtube videos? For me, it only works to control Spotify. I wanted to ask about your experience with BeardedSpice. Tldr BeardedSpice not working on web-browsers, tried trouble shooting. Previously having the keyboard link into iTunes meant that I didn't need to switch to iTunes to pause music, and similarly didn't need to pay attention to what is the foreground window before pressing the button. Time to get to I don't think Apple thought this one through: if I wanted to control the media playing in the active window, then I could already click the media controls which are currently visible. I'd say you're safe, Apple rarely switches back changes like these, but I am hopeful they will give us the option as you've suggested. If anything I just find it cumbersome and even after using High Sierra for almost a year I still automatically press the media keys because it's just engrained in me after all these years, and it's frustrating when they don't do what I want, and expect, them to. I understand Apple's reasoning in making this change but I have yet to have it be beneficial and I don't recall seeing many positive responses to it online. ![]() Install of 5.0, turn bluetooth on in system bluetooth panel, hit red button on controller, connect to. Additionally, this program doesn't let me use the skip forwards/previous keys to control media meaning I have to flick between Spotify and what I'm doing to change tracks which isn't exactly ideal. Yes, I also have this installed but I have found that if you choose to have it run on startup then it doesn't work. And I thought OP was talking about the exact same issue, except that he's using Spotify instead of iTunes. Which means the media keys have no function at all in that moment. If I close Safari, which means there is NO other app using any kind of media except iTunes, the media keys still haven't been reassigned to iTunes. As soon as Safari is showing some media, it seems like it's instantly making iTunes low priority regarding the media keys. I just don't get why Apple had to change this. ![]() When I now hit the pause button, I pause the video in Safari and iTunes keeps playing music. As of at least Weds last week they were.īut since High Sierra it's the other way around. ![]() These include pause/play, stop, volume, and Next / Previous song buttons. I used to be able to ues the media buttons on my Logitech Keybard as well as my Logitech Headset (which is wireless bluetooth). Within the last few days my pause/play buttons have stopped working. This was never an issue up to and including Sierra. For example, when there's a video in Safari but I still have iTunes playing music in the background, I could always hit the play/pause button on my keyboard to pause iTunes. But that didn't change the behavior of the media keys at all. I already added iTunes (I don't use Spotify) to the list, ticked and restarted it. I still believe we're talking about different things.
